From beautiful downtown Merryfield in the shadow of the Mosaic District, it's the Ready Kilowatt Hour on Radio Fairfax. Tonight, some new releases of very old tracks from Bikini Mutants and Robert Lester Folsom. Plus the latest from Power Plant Memorials, Makai Colvin, and Swedish bands Girl Scout and Dush Palazzet. Also, new songs from DC area bands Petra Corps and Under the Poplar. Plus Baltimore's Grammy Winners Turnstyle. And for now, happy birthday to Bob Seeger, who turned 81 yesterday. We don't play him a whole lot. But from 1968, it's the Bob Seeger system.

SPEAKER_03

I killed a little cause I was gone. I was just both being when I had a people I couldn't stick around. I had a wrong in the look, but she know I didn't share in a window looking girl.

SPEAKER_07

This is actually the new album. This is an album that's called Ring. And from that album, we are going to hear that. Turnstyle from Baltimore, I should say the Grammy Award-winning alternative punk rock hardcore, whatever you want to call them, and their latest album, Never Enough, was their fourth album that came out late last year. The song Look Out For Me. The automated film of that album as well. Currently, they're in the midst of a tour playing a number of festivals this year. They're gonna be the Monroe Festival in Tennessee on Union 12 and while we'll lose it in Chicago on August 2nd. And he charged with attempted murder. So we're gonna be going to trial. The brothers weren't uh accused of murder or anything like that. Memorial They're out of the UK music for a documentary last year about the case. That's another album Loud and Ring Ring. Sounds like Yoda gave him that title. The song Rock Down in the Well. So Memorials are gonna be coming to the pie shop in DC on May 20th. We started out with Girls Scout, the song keeper of their debut album, Ring. And you and I are listening to the world-famous ReadyKill the One Hour coming to you from Radio Fairfax, a service of Fairfax Public Access in the hallowed ground of Fairfax, Virginia. And if you have any comments or requests or just want to love us, come visit us on our Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok pages. Or drop me a line at readykradio at gmail.com. That's R-E-D-D-Y-K-Radio. I am the meatball-flavored Ready J Kilowatt. There is a Swedish band, another Swedish man. They call themselves Pallad Set, which means in Swedish the Shower Pallate. Their latest album is called Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo. The song is called Human River.

Just kasteja. Jason neutu. Kujot. We can just be a lap in a lot. We let me go for that sound.

SPEAKER_02

So just let yourself be. Just let yourself be. Just let yourself be. I let myself be able to do it.

SPEAKER_07

Robert Lester Folsom. What are you thinking of? A recently released album called If You Wanna Laugh, You Gotta Cry Sometimes. It's one of those albums that uh again is a compendium of music that was recorded years ago. In this case, these were demos recorded between 1972 and 1975. Robert Lester Folsom is from Georgia. He's been recording for some 55 years. So this one is from 1975, and it's called Help on the Way.

SPEAKER_04

On the crest of a wave of age is flame She has no pain. Like a child, she's new, she is not pain. Don't stop to run. She can cry like a lie, she can't get done. Tell me the cost. Without loving the day, it's a new I will pay by game, and you will be locked on to me. I was blind all the time I was learning to see.

SPEAKER_07

That's Petrachor, a band out of DC. Actually, a fairly young band. I think they're all teenagers. The song, The Richest Witches of the West. And that's a song about where we are in the world, about billionaires, about ice, about corruption, maybe our current presidential administration. What is Petrachor, you say? Well, petrachor, other than being that really good young band from DC, it's the earthy fresh and often sweet aroma released when rain falls on dry soil. It was coined by Australian researchers in 1964, and the term heterchore derives from the Greek heterod, which is stone and core, blood of the gods. So humans are extremely sensitive to this, and which often triggers feelings of nostalgia and a lot of things to say about this young band from DC, but I look forward to hearing from them as they as they get older and get even better. Which at that time was only their eighth studio album, and was recorded during one of the rare periods where they were not going.

Spell down by her thighs, throwing caution to the wind. She's my witch in the thin disguise, and I'll gladly be hers. And the softness of her hand. She lit a fire in my soul. It's raging black and green. And the colors of her eyes are the last I'll ever see. No, I don't believe it. She's coming now with no time. She's coming now. I feel it bummer now. Not I'll believe it ever. If I did it with you, not I'll believe it ever. This guy's honest. Not on believe it ever. If I did it would be you, and if that's all it's just to ever, can I believe that angels?

SPEAKER_07

From Silver Spring, Maryland. So we have a theme, the last two songs of the show, Under the Poplar and Petricorps, both musicians from the DC area, and also singing songs about witches. So with that, it's time to unplug the ready kilowatt hour for another week. It's a little early for Halloween, I guess, but hey, what's wrong with witches? A reminder you can stream our old shows at readykradio.bussproute.com and also on your favorite podcast apps. We'll be back on Radio Fairfax next Thursday, 9 o'clock, with both rock and roll. Until next week, it's ReadyJ Kilowatt, your rock and roll servant. Stay well, stay safe, and please don't kill anyone. Good night.
